Ticket Situation

I would like to clarify the situation of ticket sales. Following an error of times put on to our website (9am instead of 12noon) through no fault of the office staff.

Although BBC Hereford and Worcester radio had been sent full details of arrangements including 12noon Monday they broadcast a 9.00am start to sales.

With queues already forming early morning I took the decision to sell earlier than 12.00.  I would like to thank the office staff for all the hard work they have been required to put into the club the past week. For the vast majority of supporters the arrangements worked well.

Season tickets holders, then members and HUISA members were to be accommodated first, followed by voucher holders on Saturday with eight selling points open everyone had been served with approximately 45 minutes of the final whistle.

These wishing to buy tickets without any of the above were always going to be subject to availability. With few tickets left their sale did not go far.

I condemn totally the verbal abuse that they had to suffer from some who did not obtain tickets. We attempted to ensure regular and loyal supporters were top of the list and looked after, this I feel was successful. There will always be disappointment and the rare good supporter who did not fit in to the categories. However, the clamour for tickets would lead us to believe we are watched by 7000 every week.

Leeds United have not sold all of their allocation so there will be more tickets available. In the meantime I would once again like to thank all the staff for their hard work and hope that the abuse both verbal and writing will not effect their loyalty to the club.

Chairman / Director of Football

I went to the game as usual on Saturday, stayed to the end, saw all 5 goals, was taken aback by the length of the queues but we all waited patiently. Extra turnstiles were opened to limit queuing time and we all got our tickets. All genuine fans who missed out through work commitments I sympathise with, any fair weather supporters who missed out, tough you had your chance.

too true the staff at hufc did an excellent job and as neither a season ticket holder or member i was quite prepared to queue and take my chance of getting a ticket. the so called fairweather supporters do include people who simply cannot afford to attend every game even though ticket prices are fair against other clubs. well done to the staff who had the unenviable job of selling tickets.

Did anyone read what Rob Purdie wrote about the size of the staff team at HUFC, its tiny. Furthermore they do a great job. Verbally abusing them is the domain of ignorant people who don't really support the club - anyone who goes there regularly knows the club operates on a shoe string and does its very best in all these matters. Well done to all the team on and off the pitch, and lets hope tomorrow night is a real success.
