Youth Team Plans Taking ShapeArticle Date: 23 Jun 2008 Planning is well underway for Hereford United's Youth Team ahead of next seasons Puma Youth Alliance campaign... Players will report for training this coming Friday evening, with weekly afternoon sessions planned thereafter. The Bulls' youngsters will then play their first friendly game on 19th July when they visit Shrewsbury Town. The day after the Shrews friendly, the youngsters will travel to Aberystwyth to take part in the five-day annual summer Welsh International Soccer Tournament. The Welsh International Soccer Tournament, formerly the Ian Rush tournament, is in it's 24th year, and is this year attracting over 2,000 players from 18 different countries. The group stages are set to commence on the Monday 21st and will run through until Wednesday 23rd. These group stages will determine what competition teams will enter. The Official Welsh International Soccer Tournament website sets out the details as follows 'The lower positioned teams in their pools will enter the "Shield Tournament", middle placed teams will compete in the premier tournament known as the "Challenge Cup". The top teams of the groups will be competing in the elite tournament known as the "Welsh International Super Cup". Great silverware is on offer for all three tournaments.' Thursday will see all the quarter-final and semi-final matches played with Friday being set aside for the Finals. The last two days play comes with the added bonus of TV cameras being in attendance to film the action to be broadcast on SKY TV (UK and ROI), Fox TV (USA) and Smash TV (Malta).
