Turner Hands Out AwardsArticle Date: 2 Jul 2008 Hereford United supremo, Graham Turner was on hand to present the winning team their medals in an Under 11 Girls Football tournament organised by the Bulls' Football In the Community team... Monday 30th June saw over 100 Under 11 girls from across the County take part in the 5th Annual Herefordshire Schools Under 11 Girls Football Tournament. The tournament, organised by United's Football In The Community Officer Adriano Girolami, saw twelve teams from across the County battle it out for the Cup, presented later in the day by Bulls manager, Graham Turner. Turner also took time out to sign autographs for the many budding Bulls fans in attendance. Teams from Our Lady's, Hampton Dene (A & B), Brockhampton, St Martins, St James, St Thomas Cantilupe, St. Pauls, Gorsley Goffs (last years winners), Broadlands and Kington enjoyed an afternoon of football, hosted by Mr Mick Riddell of Hampton Dene Primary School, who United's FITC team would like to thank grately for his help and assistance in the organisation of the competition. The tournament was won in a closely fought final by Our Ladys who defeated Kington 1-0, which was the same scoreline of the the two semi-finals. United's Football In The Community team, headed by Adriano, will now give assemblies at the top two schools, Our Lady's and Kington, as well as visiting all the other schools to hand out medals to those who participated. The Football in the Community team will also be representing Hereford United at the Three Counties Show Ground today, Wednesday 2nd July. They will be giving two workshops during the day.
