Article Date: 16 Jul 2008 Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers will visit Edgar Street this evening, in United's opening home friendly, as they prepare for life in League 1... United made a bright start to their pre-season schedule, beating local side Ledbury Town comfortably (10-0), and drawing against Birmingham City first team squad in a behind-closed-doors training match (2-2). However, United suffered a set-back on Monday evening, losing out to Kidderminster Harriers by one goal to nil and, as Coach John Trewick told the Official Website after the game, The Bulls will "have to learn from it and improve for our next performance." Wolves are likely to bring a strong squad to Edgar Street where they visit after losing out to Wrexham 1-0 on the weekend. Wolves then visit Chasetown on Friday evening before facing Scottish sides, Dundee, Motherwell and Kilmarnock in the space of 6 days. United will look to test some trialists again, with Darren Randolph expected to share the goalkeeping duties with Craig Sampson who looks to move closer to be offered a contract to stay at Edgar Street. The game will also give suporters the opportunity to view the newly resurfaced pitch, which has undergone extensive work throughout the close season, including having a £20,000+ irrigation system installed. The Official Hereford United Website will be providing full text updates throughout this evenings match, as well as bringing exclusive post match reaction shortly after the final whistle. Finally, click here for admission details, and a reminder that only the Meadow End and Merton Stand will be open for tonights game.

Just for the record, Wrexham beat Wolves 1-0 at the weekend. They didn't lose as the article suggests. Come on the reds!!!

It has been re-written, that's not what it said this morning. (It was "the defeat of Wrexham" or something similar.
