FOOTBALL IN THE COMMUNITY WITH ADRIANO GIROLAMI

We at Football in the Community are indebted to the funding money we have received in the past from the Local Network Fund (LNF). In the past it has helped us to put on Schools football sessions and competitions in the Secondary Schools in Herefordshire.

As many may be aware the Community Scheme is centred around Primary Schools coaching and involvement, so the reason for applying for funding is so that we can carry on with coaching in Secondary schools for mainly the children we were working with in the Primary Schools.

The coaching and development is then prolonged for the individuals that we are working with, and is a great chance for these youngsters to carry on with their skill and technical ability, all through school life. The competition idea at the end of the coaching is to carry on with the enjoyment and fun aspects of development.

As the LNF Funding is coming to a close, all of us at Football in the Community would like to thank them for passing our applications through at the time they were presented. We also greatly thank Mr. David Barclay for his professionalism with his job, and I am very pleased with the excellent working relationship that’s been built between David and me.

We would also like to thank the schools for their participation in the Schemes work. This has also built up great relationships with them and our Football Club in recent times. Even though the Funding is coming to a close, we will be carrying on with coaching at these schools free of charge, as a thank you for their participation in the Scheme.

We hope you find our action photos taken by our official photographer here at the football club, Steve Niblett, enjoyable. They were taken at one of our recent competitions at Whitecross School, which was part of our funding courtesy of the LNF.

Pictured are children representing the Wyebridge Sports College, and Whitecross Sports College. The competition format was based on a team consisting of 8 players (4 boys & 4 girls). The games were 7 minutes each way, with the 4 boys of the respective schools playing the first half, and the 4 girls playing the second half, with the scores from each half totalling together to obtain a result. It proved to be a great success. We will be running further competitions in the near future.

All the best,

Adriano (Head of Football in the Community)
Sean Harris (Football in the Community)
