FULL TIME: Hereford 1-1 Swindon

The final whistle blows on an entertaining game that finished 1-1 with The Bulls coming back from a one-goal half-time defecit to secure a point against Swindon Town thanks to a 68th minute strike from Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi's strike - his third of the campaign - was needed for The Bulls after Swindon defender, Jerel Ifil smashed home a sensational opener in first half stoppage time.

Bulls stopper, Darren Randolph was on hand on a number of occasions to deny Swindon a second goal, whilst Stephen O'Leary sent a late free kick scrapping across the right hand upright.

91mins: Swindon have a free kick 40 yards out which they send into the area - winning a corner as Beckwith heads behind.

89mins: The Bulls have an attacking throw in - with two minutes added time remaining - but the move breaks down.

87mins: O'Leary sends a right footed free kick into the area - it strikes the right hand upright and goes out for a goal kick.

86mins: SUBSTITUTION: Swindon replace Paynter with Lee Peacock.

85mins: SUBSTITUTION: Matty Done comes on for the final five minutes, replacing Andy Williams on the left in a straight swap.

84mins: Taylor sees his left footed free kick get deflected narrowly wide, and The Bulls have a corner which is sent to the back post and cleared.

82mins: Another corner for the visitors as Beckwith turns behind to halt any dangers. This time Randoplh is forced into a fantastic save tipping over a diving effort from Paynter.

81mins: Marshall is straight into the action for Swindon seeing a right footed shot deflect off Rose and out for a corner.

77mins: SUBSTITUTION: McNamee leaves the field to be replaced by Marshall.

75mins: Guinan plays Williams down the left, but a fine challenge from Amankwaah sees possesion pass back into the visitors hands.

70mins: Simon Cox almost puts Swindon back into his lead but his left footed cross from the edge of the area clips the post and goes out for a goalkick.

68mins: GOAL! Hudson-Odoi strikes for Hereford - smashing home from close range after Taylor struck the post with a free kick.

66mins: Williams wins The Bulls another corner - again Swindon clear - but this time The Bulls get a free kick 30 yards from goal as Amankwaah handles.

65mins: O'Leary sends in the corner - with Williams still receiving treatment - Swindon clear and The Bulls will need to rebuild from the back.

64mins: BOOKING: Ifill goes into the book for a totally uncalled for challenge on Williams with the ball already out of play.

63mins: United are almost causing themselves more trouble than Swindon are creating - knocking around a few short passes in and around their own area.

60mins: Williams wins The Bulls first corner of the second half - O'Leary sends it in but Smith claims with ease in the Swindon goal.

57mins: Another fine save from Randolph as Swindon begin to take the upper hand in the second half.

TODAYS ATTENDANCE: 4,061 with 761 Swindon supporters.

55mins: Paynter forces a fine save from Randolph with a powerful left footed shot 20 yards out.

53mins: McNamee wins another corner for the visitors, which he will take himself - but this time Randolph claims comfortably.

50mins: Hudson-Odoi skips brilliantly past his marker and into the area before sending a low right footed cross in on goal, however it flies against the side netting and out for a goalkick.

47mins: McNamee breaks down the left, but his cross is poor and Beckwith clears. However, The Bulls are soon under pressure again, conceding a corner over on the left hand side. McNamee swings it - outfooted - towards the penalty spot, but the referee sees a fouled and blows up for a free kick to The Bulls.

We're under here in the second half - can United get back into the game?

HALF TIME: Hereford 0-1 Swindon

A fantastic strike from Ifill on the stroke of halftime takes the visitors into the break a goal ahead. However - wonder strike aside - it was a fairly even first half which both sides had a number of opportunities.

Timlin preceeded the visitors goal with a superb strike - but it crashed against the crossbar before rebounding to Ifil who made no mistake in volleying a superb strike into the top corner of the goal - hitting the bar on it's way in before bouncing over the line.

45mins: GOAL! Ifill smashes a fantastic strike into the corner of the goal coming off the cross bar on it's way in.

45mins: Beckwith turns behind a low McNamee cross which McNamee will take himself - sending an out-swinger into the box.

43mins: A good spell from The Bulls attack sees a number of crosses flash across the box - however none find their intended target and Swindon keep the home side at bay.

40mins: Guinan gets another push in the back, but the referee plays on as the ball falls to Williams who slashes the ball high and wide from 25 yards out.

38mins: Hudson-Odoi picks the ball up on the right hand side of the area, before skipping inside and sending a left footed shot a few yards wide of the near post.

34mins: Guinan wins a free kick 35 yards from goal which O'Leary will send right footed into the area. The Bulls win a corner which gets punched clear by Smith in the visitors goal.

32mins: A brief break in play as the referee hands an object over to the stewards that was thrown from the travelling contingent.

30mins: Rose gives away a free kick on the right wing, which McNamee sends into the area - and Diagouraga heads behind for a corner which McNamee will run across to take. This time Guinan heads well clear.

29mins: McNamee sends a dangerous cross in from the left - which Taylor has to act swiftly to divert behind for a corner.

28mins: The Bulls see a Williams cross fly across the face of the Swindon goal, but no Bulls player can manage to get their as Swindon flick the ball clear.

25mins: Swindon have probably enjoyed the best chance of the game so far with Paynter playing in Cox - however, Swindon certainly won't have enjoyed his shot which he pulled well wide of the mark.

24mins: Swindon take a free kick on the edge of the area quickly with Amankwaah forcing Beckwith to clear his cross.

22mins: Williams races into the area but can only prod his attempted shot wide of the mark as Smith comes out to narrow the angle in the Swindon goal.

18mins: Jackson cuts out a first cross by McNamee on the left, but he can't get to the second which reaches Simon Cox inside the six yard box who can only flick his header past the back post and The Bulls clear.

17mins: Lillian Nalis sends in a decent right footed cross into the area, but Billy Paynter heads woefully wide from 10 yards out.

14mins: O'Leary's break comes to nothing as his pass falls behind Guinan, but the visitors counter and Hereford have Taylor to thank for heading clear the danger. Williams then breaks forward for The Bulls before cutting inside onto his right and sending a curling shot inches wide of the right hand upright.

13mins: Craig Easton sends a tame left footed shot from the edge of the area straight at Randolph who claims comfortably before sending Williams away down the right with the loanee winning an attacking throw for The Bulls.

11mins: United win their first corner of the game, but O'Leary's flag kick gets cleared, before Rose sends a shot from the edge of the area well wide.

9mins: The games coming to life now, firstly Hudson-Odoi pounced on a misplaced Swindon pass, but could only watch on as his through-ball failed to find Guinan successfully.

8mins: Again Beckwith is on hand to clear for The Bulls - this time however his clearance from a low cross only finds a Swindon player on the edge of the area, and Jackson has to do well to clear against the Swindon attack to win a goalkick for The Bulls.

7mins: The first real sign of United's passing game, but the move breaks down with an overhit cross into the penalty area.

4mins: Swindon see their first real attack dealt with by Beckwith who heads clear - sending Andy Williams down the left.

2mins: Smith gets fouled 40 yards from goal with Kris Taylor sending in a left footed ball straight to Smith in the visitors' goal.

7:45pm: We're underway here at Edgar Street, The Bulls are shooting towards Meadow End in the opening period, as they look for their second win on the trot.

7:37pm: The ground is filling up nicely - with Swindon bringing a fair few supporters who are occupying the Blackfriars and Cargill Community Stand terrace, as well as taking up most of their allocation in the Cargil Community Stand seating.

7:31pm: Fifteen minutes to kick off here at Edgar Street as the rain lashes down on an already soggy pitch - however it's looking relatively okay considering the earlier downpours.

Team news wise it is perhaps surprising that Graham Turner has decided to replace Matty Done and Sam Oji with Andy Williams and Richard Jackson respectively.

7:22pm: Team news: Randolph, Taylor, Rose, Beckwith, Jackson,Williams, Smith, O'Leary, Diagouraga, Hudson-Odoi, Guinan.

Subs: Done, Oji, Easton, Ashikodi, Samson.

7:00pm: Hello and welcome to a soggy Edgar Street for tonight's game between Hereford and Swindon. Team news is expected shortly, and we'll have all the details here as soon as the team sheets arrive in the press box.

Made my 90mins train/bus journey home from the pub much more informative.

A bit disappointed not to win seeing as this was Swindon's third away game in less than a week but a decent point and we showed the character to come from behind. A bit of progress and we are out of the relegation zone for a few hours at least.

    Southend here we come!

We do.I would like to see how far Graham could take us, within reason obviously with the good facilities.

A solid performance all round, loads of effort, we were very unfortunate with a few chances, but Randolp saved our bacon on a few occassions

I have just back from game. Its the first game I have managed to see this season. GT still has a lot to do. A point was well earned and perhaps deserved but we did not play that well, Swindon did not give us any time on the ball, but we gave them plenty of time. We need an out and out goal scorer if we are to stay in this league. Looks like Jackson has a bit of class he should do well. O'leary could'nt get in the game much, He's free kicks are class. 4000 tonight. We need more to come and see the Bulls every home game.

Maybe if we got more support then we could get a ground, or would you rather us spend millions and have it empty like Darlo?? Get real!!

i think it was an 'ok' result last night but we did waste alot of chances! i dont think guinan should start, i think it should be williams up front and matt done on the wing, because guinan is just not as good on the ball as williams is, guinan just wasted to many chances!!

  • ryan

i agree the council should get it sorted we need a new ground and quick. odoi looking like a good player starting to get up the table now. well done gt come on u BULLS

Didnt understand the reason for playing Williams on the left and dropping Matty to the bench, he would of terrorised their right back, went to the Aldershot game and they put a speedy winger up against that right back and got a lot of joy! Thought Deano and Rosie looked comfortable for the most part and Taylor is making that left pos his own. Toumani was really poor, thoought he was surposed to sit just infront of back 4 and use his talent to recieve and distribute from them, didnt happen!

  • cant fill the ground we have now, no point in getting a new one.

  • bristolbull

A new ground ! lets fill Edger first. Don`t get caught up in this fantasy ground building saga like Bristol Rovers.

Well of course we need a new ground, but where's the money going to come from cue? No one or more people are going to fund that sort of cost for Hereford United particularly in the current financial environment, and who can blame them! Even the so-called Edgar Street Grid development (our only real hope of seeing an upgraded ground) will, I guarantee, drag on for years to come and probably end up fading away amid inertia, wrangling and indecision - sorry about that but just being realistic.

Not a bad result but still need to be more clinical in front of goal.I had my doubts about Randolf in pre season but he certainly proved his worth in this match with some top class saves.Man of the match for me.

I appreciate that there are more important things ongoing at the club, but is there any chance of the clock in the cargill stand being repair .

  • Good performance overall although still lacking edge upfront. Williams should have been replaced by Done at the 70 mins stage. Clear AW tiring. Our Subs policy does seem strange at times. Back four solid for the most part with Becks and Rose looking more assured and competitive. Midfield again competitive but needs someone to take control. Toumani too often covering the back 4. Sloppy passing at times created our own problems. Randolph outstanding saves and gaining confidence. SG again working hard but need to create more chances from wide play.

a good point...the reason why we dont fill edgar street is for 2 reason, its not a nice ground to cum to and watch a football match and the prices are too much. it costs u an arm and a leg to bring ur family, i thk it wuld be a great thing on the city if we were 2 get a new ground. up the whites!!!

  • joe montana

Well done lads for a hard fought point.Conditions made good football a bit difficult but kudos to DR for his best game so far even if his kicking does remind us of WB. Jackson looked solid and positionally sound.DB AND RR had their moments with Cox but DB looked happier with Rosey than Oji and the much maligned KR showed what he is - a clever footballer who has good powers of recovery for a man being played out of position and has confidence(if at times misplaced)to burn. AW straight in was a mistake as Swindon suffocated us all night in midfield and although O'Leary tried hard BS and TD were anonymous and MD's creativity was sorely missed. SG and Bradley worked hard again but if we are to score enough goals to stay up,we are going to have to stay in touch long enough for GT to find a goalscorer. We need one.

yeah the reson we cant fill the ground now because it old and crap think we should have a all seater ground then watch it fill up

  • The debate re new ground needs to be had with the supporters consulted. With the resources availabbe to the club, the current climate and the catchment area all seems to point to updating rather than state of the art. There is no question something needs to be done to bring ES up to standard. Toilets, Blackfriars revamped, catering and capacity to bring in non playing additional income streams. The outside entrence and club shop facilities are poor to say the least. How much would this cost to make the ground more attractive to all but particularly famalies and conferencing? Not much of the £10m available to the Council. How would this integrate with the Richardson plans? What do they need to be done inpartnership with everyone else??

  • Cant believe Williams played, he was rubbish! and the new defender was not better than Oji. Matty done is the future, he needs games, why are we wasting our time getting Williams fit for BR? New ground? a stand at each end with terracing in front is all we need along with new catering facilities. AND TOILETS!

good result we stopped that loosing streak players now begining to gell together time is what it takes for new lads to fit in we can only get better southend here we come your for the taking up the bulls

  • spencehufc

Sambull, Stevie G is our best outfield player at the mo, your talking a load of Bull!

  • Spence, you're talking sense, Guinan has been immence! if the other 10 worked as hard as stevie then we'd have 12 points now. We dont need Williams tho, send bak to BR
