Lottery Introduction and Details

I write to introduce you to the Official Lottery for Hereford United Football Club, and hope that by the time you have finished reading this article you will give it your support.

Running a football club relies on many things, good financial management, support through the turnstiles to bring in a regular income and, of course, success on the field! In these modern times we also need as much regular additional income all year round as we can muster.
This is where the new lottery will become invaluable. Not only will a successful lottery increase our turnover, thus allowing more funds to be spent onimproving the team. It will also help in the day to day running of the club, especially when our cash flow is restricted by way of the summer months when there are no matches, and on occasions when matches are postponed.

The idea for the lottery came about when some regular visitors to the club’s official website fans forum got their heads together to find a way for United to bring in some much needed cash.

We are hoping that the new lottery will appeal to, and be supported by, all fans who wish to help secure the future of our club. The lottery will be run by the webmasters of the official website on behalf of the club. It is an incredibly simple idea, and one which if well supported can pay excellent prizes to those taking part. The benefits to the club, and to you as fans, will depend entirely on you.

The Back the Bulls Lottery Rules

The idea is that United fans can donate an amount of their choosing to the Back The Bulls Lottery once a month; this is done by filling in a Standing Order mandate form and presenting it to your bank.
For every £1 donated you will receive 1 entry into a monthly draw to take place before a home match during the season and at the club office during close season (i.e. £20 = 20 entries, £5 = 5 entries).
We prefer that supporters of the lottery enter the draw to the amount of £5 and upwards per month, but any amount is greatly appreciated.

The winner of the draw shall receive 20% of the total amount paid into the lottery the previous month (For example - £1000 paid into Lottery = £200 for the winner of the draw).

All profits made on this scheme will go straight to Hereford United Football Club via an account specifically set up for the purpose of helping Hereford United financially with day to day running of the club.

A list of entrants for any given month will be made available in the club office; this facility is for entrants to check that they are entered if they should wish to (ID required).

Winners will be announced over the loudspeakers directly after the draw at the home game in question, in the following match programme, on the Back The Bulls Lottery web page on the official website and in the local press. (Please note that if you require notification of a win in the draw personally (by phone or letter) then please make these details available to the club by mail and address it to The Back the Bulls Lottery.
