Ryan Bowman has been voted The FA Cup Player of the First Round.

Bowman bagged 33 percent of the public vote ahead of Chelmsford City's Donovan Simmonds, Harrogate Town's Chib Chilaka and Macclesfield Town's Tony Diagne.

The Bulls' two-goal hero helped guide United into the FA Cup Second Round at the expense of local rivals Shrewsbury Town.

Bowman doubled United's lead with a sensational 25-yard effort and, after Luke Summerfield had pulled a goal back with a free-kick, Bowman coolly converted a penalty to set up a trip to Cheltenham Town on Monday 3rd December, earning the club a much-needed pay day after the tie was selected for live television coverage by ESPN.

The striker, who was also nominated for the Player of the Round prize in the previous round against FC United of Manchester, will receive a commemorative Player of the Round trophy and he will be invited to this season's FA Cup Final at Wembley as a guest of Budweiser and The FA.
