Hereford United Under-18s recorded back-to-back wins following a 3-1 home win over Torquay United.

The Bulls' Under-18s put in another good performance on Saturday, beating Torquay 3-1. The win followed on from their last league game in which the young Bulls defeated Yeovil 4-1.

“It makes such a difference when you have a fully fit squad to pick from,” said Head of Youth John Layton. “The players are really working hard and enjoying their football at the moment.”

Saturday’s game against Torquay started at a brisk pace and both sides had chances on a soggy pitch.

But it was Torquay who took the lead with a break down the left and a cross which was blasted into the net. The lead didn’t last long, though, with the young Bulls hitting back just a few minutes later. Cory Williams held off his marker to equalise.

Cory had a great opportunity to grab another goal just before half-time but his shot missed the target.

The second half started much the same as the first with both sides competing, although at times a little too competitively.

From one such rash challenge, Louis Feeley took the resulting free-kick and placed the ball with swerve and pace into the net to hand Hereford a 2-1 lead.

The Bulls continued to press forward and 15 minutes from full-time, Williams took a pass on the run, held off his marker and scored from a very acute angle to seal a well-deserved three points.

Next Saturday, Hereford travel to Torquay in what should be an interesting rematch in Devon.
