McCarthy Called Up By Wales U17s

Posted on: Fri 05 Feb 2010

Hereford United Youth Team defender Kyle McCarthy recieved a call up to the standby squad for the Welsh under-17 training camp in San Sebastian from 21st-26th February.

Unfortunately, McCarthy suffered a broken leg in the Youth Team's match against Cheltenham Town in October 2009, and will not be fit enough to make the trip.

Youth Team manager Gary Stevens said: " I think it is brilliant for Kyle and very well deserved.  Up until breaking his leg against Cheltenham in the Football League Youth Alliance he had come on leaps and bounds and was performing very well at left-back.
