Aidan Thomas is the latest youth team product to join the first team setup, taking the number of players to make the progression to six in the last seven years.

Colin Williams, who's son Andy had a succesful spell with the Hereford United first team after progressing through the ranks, told The Official Hereford United Website: "We are very pleased and proud to have another local player and member of the youth team make the first team squad.

"Aidan Thomas joined us when he was still at school three years ago and made his debut against Yeovil Town, as did Tyler Weir the year before.

"Considering the past level of support we are proud of our record of providing the first team with six players in the last seven years."

Thomas is joined by former youth team players Sam Gwynne and Tyler Weir in Simon Davey's squad this season.

Meanwhile, Simon Davey will be presenting both the under-16 and under-18 teams with their trophies won at the recent Welsh Super Cup tournament held in Aberystwyth prior to Tuesday's Carling Cup game against Colchester United.
