After last week's disappointing result, coach Gary Stevens vented his anger on the training ground and worked on closing down, and the training seemed to do the trick.
Dean Lee returned to the side for the visit of Yeovil Town. The visitors enjoyed an early spell of possession as Hereford still looked hungover from the previous week. This time though there were no early mistakes and the Bulls managed to settle into the game.
Both sides moved the ball well with the game moving at a frenetic pace. On 20 minutes the first chance came the Bulls' way when Josh Hunt found himself free at the back post and he forced the Glovers keeper to save well at the base of his post.
This was followed by a driving run by Lee who also fired to the keeper's near post with Hunt unmarked and waiting for a square pass.
Striker Jack Biggs also had a good opportunity to score but unfortunately lifted his side-foot volley over both keeper and bar. Then with half-time approaching a visiting attacker broke through on goal but luckily for Hereford he fired his shot wide.
The second half started as the first had finished with the Bulls controlling the pace of the game but the Glovers looking dangerous on the break.
Fifteen minutes in, Zac Brimble closed down a poor clearance and calmly side footed home with the Glovers 'keeper out of position.
This opened up the game and luck was twice on United's side as the Glovers managed to miss two guilt-edged chances. Hereford stopper Mat Gwynne was in fine form and was determined to keep a clean sheet, finding himself occasionally playing as a sweeper.
Kyle McCarthy curled a free-kick over the defending wall which forced the Yeovil keeper to work hard to keep it out. Wideman Laurie Marsh then sent in a wicked curling cross that somehow evaded Will Loughman.
As the game moved into the final quarter and the heavens opened up Loughman drove into the penalty area and fired a low shot to the visitors' near post. His shot was only parried and Hunt (pictured right) latched onto the loose ball to fire home his first goal in the Youth Alliance.
The game finished with a 2-0 win for the Bulls and a much improved display.
